Getting started with F2C Search

You can use F2C Search to do ABSOLUTE searches (instead of keyword) on Joomla articles created with F2C. The results are shown in category blog layout style and the read more goes directly to the NATIVE Joomla article (in com_content).

F2C Search component & module

The F2C Search component is used to create the different types of searches. Each search is linked to a F2C Content Type. All the display parameters and search fields are configured in the component.

The F2C Search Modules is used to publish (display) the search.

Getting started

At this point we are assuming you have a F2C Content Type (Form) which has either dropdown or select boxes (single or multiple select options) in it.

In the F2C Search Form Manager click on New. Select the Content Type to which the Search will be linked and click next. The following fields will be showed. All the fields filled out here will be used to generate the F2C Search Module. It is always possible to return to this screen by clicking on the Name in the rows in the Search Manager.

After saving the next step is to start adding Search Fields. In the Search Manager click in the small fields icon next to the title of the search. The following screen will become vissible (without any rows).

Click on New (Field) and select from the drop-down the F2C Field which you would like to be able to search. Notice that you can only select the F2C fields which are of type single or multi select (drop-down, radio or checkbox). Fill out the parameters and save the search fields. These steps can be repeated as many times as there are F2C fields in your Content Type which can be searched.
