F2C Content type configuration

Creating and configuring a content type is the first step in using Form2Content for your article submission. After you edit or create a Content Type there are many settings ... explained in this article.

We recommend that whenever a new Content Type is created it is immediately saved after it has been given a name. This way your default templates and settings are saved correctly.

The setting in the Content Type determine how the Joomla article is created and with which settings. These settings include publishing options, aliases, permissions, language, metadata and all the advanced article parameters.

Where will the created Joomla Articles be saved?

There are a few very important parts to Form2Content. One is the location where the created Joomla article will be saved. In F2C Lite this is et in the submission form itself.

In F2C Pro you can set a default category where the generated Joomla articles will be saved. It is also possible to select a default section (category in J1.6) and let the user just select from the sub-categories.

Which F2C templates will be used to create the Joomla Articles?

Form2Content will use the default created templates unless you specify which other template to use (image 3). If you decide to use the default templates make sure you set the "Generate default template" in the F2C options/global config to off.VERY IMPORTANT!!

F2C Cheat-sheet

An overview of all template parameters (placeholders for your form data). These are used in your F2C intro and main template to parse the data from your submission forms into the Joomla article.
