F2C Search

Form2Content Search is a great F2C extension which allows you to perform absolute (as apposed to keyword density) searches on Joomla articles. The results of a search is a list of Joomla articles displayed in category blog layout. As with the normal blog layout you can define the options like show/hide title, read more etc. via the F2C Search interface.

The intro texts in the blog layout can display the read more link which links to the normal com_content display of the Joomla article. This means that only the search results page is rendered by com_form2contentsearch.

Form2Content Search can be linked to the following F2C Field types:

  • Single select (checkbox or drop-down)
  • Multi-select (checkbox or drop-down)
  • Date field (absolute or convert to range option)
  • Text field integer value (convert to range or slider)
  • Text field values to drop-down
  • Databes lookup field (single or multi-select)
  • Joomla category
  • Joomla author

It's also possible to do keyword (free text) search and limit this to specific text fields including:

  • Joomla article title
  • Joomla meta description
  • Joomla keywords
  • Single line text boxe(s)
  • Multi-line text area (editor)

Custom read more link (for images for instance)

You should always use our SEF System plugin if you like to add a custom read more link in your F2C Intro Template.  An example is when you add the template parameter for the link {$JOOMLA_ARTICLE_LINK_SEF}  around an image. Please read this article about SEF links.

Getting started with F2C Search

You can use Form2Content Search to do ABSOLUTE searches (instead of keyword) on Joomla articles created with Form2Content. The results are shown in category blog layout style and the read more goes directly to the NATIVE Joomla article (in com_content).

An overview of all template parameters (placeholders for your form data). These are used in your F2C intro and main template to parse the data from your submission forms into the Joomla article.
